You'veprobably seen or heard themtalk about "micron ratings"of 10 or less when talkingabout a filter's efficiency.(One micron is one-millionthof a meter and a "micronrating" of 10 means that thefilter will remove particlesas small as 10 millionths ofa meter.)
Morosoengineers have determined,with the help of researchperformed by filtrationtechnology experts, thatparticles smaller than 20microns in diameter are notlarge enough to produceengine wear. Furthermore,Moroso engineers have alsofound thatfilters withextremely low micron ratingscreate an excessive pressuredrop across the filter.
