Factory GM heads are used todefine standard valve spacingand angle (thus 23) formany small block Chevy.Additionally most 23aftermarket cylinder headsincorporate what is commonlyknown as "60/40 Shift" inorder to allow for largervalves. All JE flat top andinverted dome shelf pistonset designs accommodate"60/40 Shift" and will workwith most aftermarket 23cylinder heads, includingthose with oversized valvesand angle milled surfaces.TFS "Twisted Wedge", AFR227and Brodix 10X cylinder headswill require custom pistons.
