COMP Cams offers acomplete line of valve stemseals, a must to keepunwanted oil from enteringthe combustion chamberthrough the clearance in thevalve guides. The o-ringseals use the standardretainer and oil splashshield. The umbrella seal isnormally used when alarger-than-stock diameterspring is used, and in thecase of a double spring, thepositive-stop Teflon seal isused. Smaller diameter Vitonseals are also available fortriple spring applications.Both the o-ring and theumbrella seals require nomachining, but with theTeflon seal it is necessaryto disassemble the heads andmachine the top of the guidewith a special cutter, whichcan be found to the left sideof this page.
